The 2010 Syrah is juicy and spicy, emulating a Northern Rhone style. Plenty of black pepper on the nose, along with blueberry and floral aromas. The palate is bold, with juicy acidity and another dose of black pepper. The tannin is moderate and well balanced. Smokey oak reveals itself on the elegant finish. Pair with a slow roasted leg of lamb spiked with thyme and rosemary to accentuate the earthy undertones.

93 POINTS  Deep in colour, the wine begins with aromas of pepper, cedar and black cherry. On the palate, there are flavours of pepper, figs and plums. The texture is generous, with just the perfect backbone of ripe tannins and oak to give this wine a long life in the cellar as well. Think of this as a Rhone-style red, disciplined and elegant, with a long finish.”  John Schreiner

"Reminiscent of fine Northern Rhône syrah, this juicy, tightly wound red offers up a big dose of cracked pepper and dark fruit, with nuances of tar, roast pork and new shoe leather – all those wacky overtones that melt the hearts of syrah fans. From a stellar winery, this is a fine candidate for up to 10 years in the cellar, where it should develop an even meatier, earthy profile. Ideal for braised red meats such as beef short ribs."  Beppi Crosariol, Globe & Mail
