I don't give these scores or accolades lightly. Your reds, in particular, blew me away. ~ Natalie MacLean

Best of Varietal Merlot, 2009 Painted Rock Merlot, 2013 Spring Okanagan Wine Festival

91 POINTS "This wine begins with aromas of blackberry, cassis and new oak, continuing to flavours of black currants, raspberries and pomegranate. The texture is concentrated and firm (even after decanting), suggesting the wine has the power and the structure to cellar for another seven or eight years.” John Schreiner

91 POINTS “This beautifully rendered merlot, with the sense of grace that has shot young Painted Rock to the top of the heap in B.C. It is still youthful, with oak vanillin and wood featuring strongly, but there is lovely florality as well,  and classic merlot black raspberry and tea. It‟s medium-full bodied, poised with very good tension….the fruit depth and length is excellent.” David Lawrason, WineAlign

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
A serious, complex and sturdy Merlot with dark berries and dusty sage on the nose which continue onto the palate, joined by elements of dark chocolate, black liquorice and black currants. Elegant with a velvety texture and dark, earthy undertones- the rich fruit character coupled with nice grippy tannins and a good dose of oak keep the alcohol and acidity in check, making this a fabulous food wine.
Food Pairing Notes
Best with smoked meats, barbecue and rich, flavourful stews.
